Ford Baptist Church has a long history; it was started as a village church in 1863, when Ford itself was a village at the outskirts of Devonport.
Times changed, and the church has changed too. Although coming from a long spiritual tradition, we are dedicated to blending that legacy with a posmodern, contextualised expression of faith.
Our services use both traditional hymns and uplifting, contemporary songs.
Most importantly, through Sunday services, Bible studies, prayer meetings, home groups, we are trying to help our members and visitors grow and develop their spiritual life.

As a Baptist church, we are conservative and evangelical in our theology, but open and innovative in our outward expressions of faith.
Here you can come as you are - you don't need to wear church clothes or put on a church face. We don't come to this church to pretend to be religious - we come to draw closer to God.
We focus on families - there is a variety of activities for children: Boys' Brigade, Girls' Brigade, the BU[th] youth club, Sunday School, monthly Family Service, and for parents of toddlers there is a bi-weekly Parent and Toddler club.
For those seeking to learn more about Christianity there is a weekly Bible study which meets on Tuesday nights at 7:30.
There is a weekly prayer meeting for ladies at the Mazuru home, and a monthly Men's Club run jointly with Morice Baptist Church - at Morice.
